Non destructive testing, NDT has become an indispensible tool for quality control and quality assurance in many industries. GSI - the Association for Welding Technology International will present methods that they developed in order to improve education in this field at the World Conference on Non-Destructive Testing in Munich from the 13th to the 17th of June 2016. By using the additive manufacturing technology for copying or constructing NDT specimens, similar and therefore comparable education and test pieces become possible. During a GSI practical training session, everybody works with the same education piece. The core benefits are that comparability and certainty of action are ensured for trainees while their understanding is enhanced through bi-sensual or trisensual information input. Those same education specimens are also part of the GSI eLearning and theoretical education materials. Visit the GSI-booth in Munich if you want to learn more about this innovative education method.
