Düsseldorf, February 25, 2013. Significant personnel changes have resulted at the head of DVS - German Welding Society as well as in the management of its affiliated company GSI - Gesellschaft für Schweißtechnik International mbH.
With effect from February 14, 2013, Professor Dr.-Ing. Steffen Keitel, the sole Managing Director of GSI since 2005, has given up the management of the company at his own request in order to be able to dedicate himself to the management of Schweißtechnische Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt SLV Halle GmbH to a greater extent in the future. Professor Keitel has already worked for SLV Halle since 1987 - since 1993, in the business management of this affiliated company of DVS.
The Shareholders Committee of GSI has appointed Dr.-Ing. Klaus Middeldorf as the new Managing Director of GSI. In this connection, he ended his activities as the General Manager of DVS on February 11, 2013. The DVS Executive Council has appointed Mr. Berthold Kösters as his successor at the head of the society. He is a commercial employee by trade and has been the Deputy General Manager until now.
His predecessor Dr.-Ing. Klaus Middeldorf began his activities at DVS in August 1999 as the General Manager of Forschungsvereinigung Schweißen und verwandte Verfahren e. V. des DVS. He also continued to perform this task when he was entrusted with the office of the General Manager of DVS on January 1, 2006. "DVS, GSI and also DVS Media GmbH have cooperated closely since time immemorial," explains Middeldorf. "For me, new personal challenges are connected with my move into the business management of GSI. However, the previous good cooperation between the society and its affiliated companies will also profit from this and will open up new strategic possibilities."
Berthold Kösters has already been employed in various functions at DVS since 1992. As the Deputy General Manager, he has been responsible, above all, for the fields of finances, personnel and organisation since January 1, 2006.
