Opening ceremony “Weld India 2014” in New Delhi, India
on the occasion of the IIW Congress “Welding for improved economy, reliability and sustainable environment” in conjunction with the welding exhibition “Weld India 2014” in New Delhi, India in April 2014.
Participation in the Congress and the visit of the exhibition by the Managing Director of GSI, Dr. -Ing. Klaus Middeldorf and the Head of Foreign GSI Christian Ahrens, with the continuation of the cooperation of the Indian Institute of Welding as well as a lecture at the well-attended international conference.
The coordination with the representatives of the Indian organizations in the major international standards ISO and regulations of the IIW has continued. In a lecture on "Influences of Computer -Based Technologies on Welding Training and Skills Development" eLearning in the welding engineer training, didactic and methodology in the use of virtual welding trainers in welder training were shown in the GSI. Great interest and intense debate took place while developing the use of VWTS (Virtual Welding Training Systems) to the urgent need to improve the training of welders in India.
At the show, some 120 international exhibitors were represented. In addition to modern equipment technology for welding on solutions for nondestructive testing of welded structures was at the center of interest.
