Via a project implemented by the globally active development organisation sequa GmbH, 18 vocational college teachers at colleges from several cities in Egypt have been trained to become welding shop foremen due to the promotion provided by the Foreign Office. In a competition in which 80 teachers took part in Egypt, these 18 vocational college teachers had qualified to participate in the training at GSI-Niederlassung Bildungszentren Rhein-Ruhr. The certificates were handed over by the Lord Mayor of the City of Essen, Mr. Thomas Kufen, in the presence of representatives of sequa and GSI.
Due to the training to become welding shop foremen, the vocational college teachers have acquired comprehensive knowledge and abilities not only in their manual skills but also in their practice-related expert know-how. All the participants have clear ideas about how they will utilise this knowledge and these abilities in their work at the respective colleges. Beyond the specialist work, friendly relationships have arisen between the participants from Egypt and the welding teachers from Germany and will offer good prerequisites for the further cooperation.
