Representatives of companies from several Baltic countries congregated at the GT Corporation in Tallinn on December 15, 2014 in order to discuss the status of the training and qualification testing of underwater welders. Read moreIn October 2014, 77 Egyptian vocational college teachers for welding technology took their preliminary qualification tests in the training centre called GEWC (German Egyptian Welding Center). The participants came from various provinces of Egypt. They were interviewed in small groups and all took written qualification tests relating to their knowledge.
Taking account of the origin and the performance, a total of 36 of the 77 people were selected for the further education which they completed in two groups.

This 2014 event will for sure be remembered as a historical milestone in the history of EWF.
The discussion about the competition rules inside the EWF – being raised again and again by the German delegates for a long time – did come to a sudden end after a long and ongoing lively debate in the EWF General Assembly Meeting.
